Get to Know Dr. Oana Marcu
Dr. Marcu brings more than 20 years of family medicine experience to SPH, delivering compassionate, whole-person care that promotes healthy aging. Her path into medicine began as a teen providing care to the elderly in Adult Family Homes. There she became captivated by the consequences of chronic diseases and inspired to focus on disease prevention.
Dr. Marcu chose family medicine because of its focus on holistic care — looking beyond symptoms to understand each patient’s story, then tailoring treatment to their values and goals. After residency, she completed a Geriatrics Fellowship to refine her skills for older adults. For 18 years, Dr. Marcu provided excellent primary care and leadership at Optum (formerly The Everett Clinic), earning the respect of patients for her comprehensive approach and genuine support. Her recent focus on menopause medicine underscores her dedication to guiding women toward wellness during this important transition and onward.
Whether proactively managing chronic conditions or promoting long-term health, Dr. Marcu offers evidence-based guidance and hands-on support. “I enjoy being a patient advocate —coordinating care with specialists and hospitals where care can become fragmentated” she says. “Helping patients understand their options and navigate today’s complex medical system is key to building long-standing, collaborative, trusting relationships.”
