Get to Know Dr. Anthony Barnett

After studying history and Russian language at Swarthmore College, Dr. Barnett took on his first “real job,” helping to resettle Soviet Jewish refugees in San Francisco following the break-up of the Soviet Union. That work prompted a shift in ambition, inspiring him to couple human service with his passion for science and pursue a medical degree. He ultimately graduated from the University of Southern California (now Keck) School of Medicine.

As a resident at Swedish Medicine First Hill, Dr. Barnett trained in Family Medicine. From there, he moved on to work at an innovative practice pioneering advances in house calls, onsite workplace care, and telemedicine. Ten years later, in 2012, Dr. Barnett joined Swedish Issaquah and returned to basic, broad-spectrum primary care. Over the course of his tenure there, he was highly regarded for his thorough, focused support and advocacy for patient needs.

Dr. Barnett is thrilled to join Seattle Premier Health and launch his third professional decade delivering patient-driven, education-focused care. “I see SPH as the ideal setting for building the kind of strong doctor-patient relationships that lead to excellent overall health and wellness.”
